WTBF

Troy's Best Friend

ABOUT US

Serving Pike County and the Wiregrass for 78 years

Founded in 1947, WTBF has served Pike County and the Wiregrass for nearly 80 years, and we’re proud to have been locally owned and operated throughout our rich history. As Troy’s leading local radio station, we’ve been known as Troy’s Best Friend to generations of Trojans, but our community commitments extend well beyond Troy city limits.

WTBF broadcasts Classic Hits on FM 94.7, and on AM 970 and FM 96.3 we carry the Infinity Sports Network. We share local news and weather throughout the day on both stations.

Our flagship morning show has been a staple of local life for decades, entertaining and informing listeners and providing a platform for local organizations and charities like the Troy Arts Council and the Pike County Salvation Army.

During football season, WTBF covers 11 high school football teams from throughout our listening area, typically broadcasting two games a week through our twin stations. WTBF also broadcasts Troy University football, men’s and women’s basketball, and baseball.

WTBF is also a Braves Radio Network affiliate, carrying Braves games throughout the season on AM 970 and FM 96.3.

WTBF signed on for the first time at noon on February 25, 1947, and for 78 years we have changed with the times from vacuum tubes to smartphones and from 45s to MP3s. Our mission of service to our community remains the same.
